# Agenda and weekly report

> Alva keeps a dated to-do list of its own — reminders, follow-ups, reviews and a weekly business development report — and works through it without being asked.

Alva doesn't only answer when you ask. It keeps an **agenda**: a dated list of things it has promised to do or check, and it works through it on an hourly schedule. Each item has a next review date and a deadline. When Alva works on an item it reports back, then reschedules it, completes it, or asks you for a decision.

The agenda is switched on for new accounts. When [Alva by Email](https://docs.alvahq.com/ai-assistant/alva-by-email.md) is on too, Alva emails you its reports and you can reply to them.

## What goes on the agenda

### Reminders and follow-ups you ask for

Ask in the chat panel or by email:

* "Remind me on Friday to chase the Acme proposal"
* "Check back next week on how the healthcare search is doing"
* "Remind me next month to review our pricing page"

Alva works out dates like "tomorrow morning" or "next Monday" in your account's time zone.

### Things you promise Alva

When you tell Alva you'll do something — "I'll send you the price list next week" — Alva notes it and follows up once, shortly after the date you gave. If you didn't give a date, it checks in a couple of working days later.

### Your first two weeks

When your account is new, Alva runs your onboarding by email over the first two weeks, one step at a time:

1. A welcome, a short guide to what it can and can't do, and up to three questions about anything it doesn't already know about your business
2. Your master [strategy document](https://docs.alvahq.com/context/strategy-documents.md), written from your answers
3. A proposal for your first [Search Agent](https://docs.alvahq.com/discovery/creating-a-discovery-profile.md)
4. A check that you have a mailbox that can send outreach
5. A first outreach sequence for your approval
6. One conversation about budget before your starter credit runs out, with a link to add a card and set up auto top-up

Alva proposes each step and creates nothing until you say yes.

### Reviews of agents it's set running

Where reviews are switched on for your account, Alva puts a review on its agenda whenever a Search Agent or BDR agent is switched on — whether you did it in the app or through Alva:

* **Search Agents** are reviewed a day after they start, then weekly.
* **BDR agents** are reviewed a week after they start, then fortnightly.
* **New outreach mailboxes** are checked once they're ready to send, with an offer of a signature and, if nothing is sending from them yet, a BDR agent.

Each review reports the numbers and proposes changes for your yes.

## The weekly business development report

Where it's switched on for your account, Alva emails the account owner a weekly business development report:

* **Headline numbers first** — pipeline, outreach and discovery for the week.
* **Up to three numbered recommendations.** Reply "yes to #2" and Alva carries out that one.
* **The outreach report PDF** for the last seven days, attached. See [Documents](https://docs.alvahq.com/ai-assistant/documents.md).

For founders and the C-suite, the report's recommendations take the place of the growth ideas Alva would otherwise share in chat.

> [!NOTE]
>
> On new accounts, the agenda starts with onboarding, reminders and follow-ups. The weekly report and agent reviews aren't switched on for every account — ask Alva "is the weekly report on?" and it will tell you.

## What Alva will and won't do on its own

When Alva works through its agenda, it can read, analyse, draft and propose. Within an item it's been asked to handle, it can also carry out routine steps.

It **never**:

* switches on, resumes or restarts a Search Agent or BDR agent itself
* raises a limit or a budget itself
* does anything that spends money, contacts people outside your company or deletes something without your yes

When it needs one of those, it asks you and waits. You answer by replying to its email or in the chat panel, and it carries on from there.

## Seeing and managing the agenda

Ask Alva "what's on your agenda?" for a quick summary, or go to **Settings → Alva Agenda**:

* **Open items** lists everything that's scheduled, with its status, next review, deadline and how many times Alva has worked on it. Click an item to see its brief, the latest outcome and a log of every run.
* From an item you can change its next review, deadline or how often it repeats, then click **Save schedule**. You can also **Mark done** or **Cancel item**.
* **Finished** shows items that are done, cancelled or paused.

You can do all of this through Alva too — "move the Acme reminder to next Tuesday", "cancel the review of the old search".

### Limits

The **Limits** card sets how much credit Alva's scheduled work may use, and how Alva keeps you informed. Admins can change them.

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Daily cap** | The most credit Alva's scheduled work can use across the whole account in a day |
| **Per run cap** | A safety limit on a single run. A run that reaches it stops and carries the rest over |
| **Default notifications** | **Silent** (only when something goes wrong), **On change** (when Alva changed something or needs a decision) or **Always** (after every run) |
| **Time zone** | Used to work out phrases like "tomorrow morning" |

When the daily cap is reached, or your credit runs low, Alva's scheduled work pauses and tries again later. You get one email about it, not a daily reminder.

> [!TIP]
>
> Alva's agenda runs alongside the feature budgets in [AI settings](https://docs.alvahq.com/ai-assistant/ai-settings.md). The agenda caps cover Alva's own scheduled work; the feature budgets cover Search Agents, BDR agents and Pulse.
