# Enrichment Profiles

> Reusable contact-targeting settings you can apply to companies you import yourself — plus deeper Tier 2 sourcing.

When a company comes from a Search Agent, [enrichment](/discovery/enrichment) runs automatically and uses that agent's targeting to decide **who** to find. But when you bring companies in yourself — a CSV upload, a single manual add, or a company you created by hand — there's no Search Agent behind them to say who matters.

An **Enrichment Profile** solves that: it's a reusable, named set of contact-targeting settings you can attach to any company so enrichment knows exactly who to look for.

## When to use one

* You've **imported companies from a spreadsheet** and want them enriched with the right contacts.
* You **added a company manually** and want Alva to find its decision-makers.
* You want to apply the **same targeting repeatedly** across different batches of companies without re-typing it each time.

<Note>
  Companies discovered by a Search Agent already carry that agent's enrichment targeting, so they don't need an Enrichment Profile. Enrichment Profiles are for companies that arrive **outside** of a Search Agent.
</Note>

## Creating an Enrichment Profile

Go to **Discovery → Search Agents**, click **Create New Search Agent**, and choose **Add Enrichment Profile**. Give it a clear name (e.g. "UK Fintech Decision-Makers") and set your targeting:

| Setting                     | What it controls                                                                                               |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enable enrichment** | Whether contacts are found automatically for linked companies |
| **Primary job functions** | The roles to prioritise when finding contacts (e.g. Head of Marketing, VP Sales) |
| **Secondary job functions** | Fallback roles to use if the primary ones aren't found |
| **Economic buyer** | The ideal decision-maker title (e.g. CEO, CFO, Managing Director) — these contacts are flagged and prioritised |
| **Tier 2 Contact Search**   | Optional deeper sourcing — see [below](#tier-2-contact-search)                                                 |

An Enrichment Profile holds targeting only — it doesn't search for companies itself. It appears in your Search Agents list alongside your other agents so it's easy to find and edit.

## Linking a profile to companies

Once created, attach the profile to the companies you want enriched:

* From a **company's detail page**, choose the Enrichment Profile to apply, then enrich.
* When **importing companies**, apply a profile so the whole batch is enriched with the same targeting.

Linked companies then run through the standard [enrichment pipeline](/discovery/enrichment) — finding contacts, cleaning the data, ranking by seniority, and flagging your economic buyer — just like discovered companies.

## Tier 2 Contact Search

Base enrichment finds contacts and emails associated with a company and is **included**. **Tier 2 Contact Search** is an optional, deeper layer that finds **more** contacts and reveals **more verified emails** — and, if you choose, **mobile numbers**.

<Warning>
  Tier 2 adds a **per-contact cost** on top of base enrichment, and revealing mobile numbers costs more than emails. It's **off by default** and only ever runs when you switch it on. Base enrichment alone is enough for most outreach.
</Warning>

When you enable Tier 2 you can choose:

* **Reveal email addresses** — find more verified emails (a small per-email cost).
* **Reveal mobile numbers** — add direct mobile numbers (a larger per-mobile cost).

For Search Agents that **score** company fit (see [Funded & high-growth companies](/discovery/company-intelligence) and [People Search](/discovery/people-search)), you can also restrict Tier 2 to companies **above a match-score threshold**, so you only pay for deeper sourcing on your best-fit companies.

<Note>
  Automatic contact enrichment — including Tier 2 — requires a **Pro plan**. On other plans the People settings are visible but locked, with an upgrade prompt.
</Note>

## Managing with Alva

You can create and apply Enrichment Profiles conversationally. Ask [Alva](/ai-assistant/talking-to-alva):

* *"Create an enrichment profile targeting heads of operations and CFOs."*
* *"Enrich this company looking for its marketing decision-makers."*

Alva never switches on Tier 2 — or mobile reveal in particular — unless you explicitly ask for deeper contact sourcing, so you stay in control of spend.

## Costs

Base enrichment is charged per company when contacts are found. Tier 2 adds a per-contact cost only for the emails or mobiles it reveals — you never pay for empty results. See **Settings → Usage** for a breakdown and [Understanding Credits](/billing/understanding-credits) for how billing works overall.
