# Your website demo

> What happens after you talk to Alva on alvahq.com: your account, your demo, and your first emails.

When you talk to Alva on [alvahq.com](https://alvahq.com), it creates your Alva account and builds a working demo in it from your answers. You see real prospects and first draft emails before you decide anything, and nothing is sent until you say yes.

## The conversation

Alva asks for your company website, then your name and job title. It already knows the basics of your business, so its questions build on that:

* Who your ideal customers are, and some examples of your best ones
* Where you want to find them
* Who signs off on buying from you
* Your plans for the next 12 months
* Why customers pick you over the alternatives

When it has what it needs, it asks for your email address.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Use your work email on your company's domain — the same domain as your website. Personal webmail, temporary addresses, and addresses that already have an Alva account are refused. Each company domain gets one demo; if a colleague has already started one, Alva tells you it's being set up.

## What Alva builds

Once you've given your email, Alva creates your account and starts building. Your account comes with a starter credit, so you don't need a card.

**1. Your company context**

Alva reads your website and fills in your [company profile](https://docs.alvahq.com/context/company-profile.md), [products and competitors](https://docs.alvahq.com/context/products-and-competitors.md). Your answers in the conversation become your master [strategy document](https://docs.alvahq.com/context/strategy-documents.md), which Alva reads in every conversation.

**2. People searches**

Alva plans one to three [people searches](https://docs.alvahq.com/discovery/people-search.md), one for each kind of buyer you described, and starts them. It checks that every job title makes sense in every industry it searches.

**3. Checking each company**

Each company found is [enriched](https://docs.alvahq.com/discovery/enrichment.md) and checked against what you told Alva, so you can see which are strong matches and which are worth a look.

**4. A paused outreach agent for each search**

For each search, Alva drafts a [personalised outreach agent](https://docs.alvahq.com/bdr-agents/personalised-outreach.md) written for that kind of buyer, leading with the reason customers pick you. The agents stay paused.

**5. First draft emails**

Alva picks the best person to write to for each kind of buyer and has that search's agent draft an email to them — up to three in total. Nothing is sent.

Your conversation from the website is copied into your Alva chat history, so you can pick it up where you left off.

## "Your Alva demo is ready"

When every company found has been checked, or after a time limit, the searches pause and Alva emails you **Your Alva demo is ready** from your account's own Alva address. It tells you how many companies and contacts were found and has a link that signs you in once.

The link opens the **Discovery Pipeline** at the **Target** stage, best matches first, with the Alva panel open on your website conversation. Alva's first message there is in three parts:

* **Your Alva demo** — a short greeting
* **What the searches found** — the strongest companies and the people found there, which search worked best and why, and one or two changes it can make to the searches
* **First draft emails** — each draft with who it's for and why, so you can tell Alva what to change

If you'd rather reply by email, reply to **Your Alva demo is ready** and the conversation carries on in the same thread.

If you haven't opened your demo after a day, Alva sends a short follow-up with three of the companies it found and a fresh sign-in link.

## From demo to first emails

After you've seen the demo, Alva walks you through the next steps, one at a time:

1. **Connect a mailbox** to send from — see [Connecting an email account](https://docs.alvahq.com/email/connecting-an-email-account.md) and [Outreach mailboxes](https://docs.alvahq.com/email/outreach-mailboxes.md).
2. **Preview emails** to real companies, with any changes you asked for.
3. **Start the outreach agent** — only after you say yes.

You can also ask Alva to change a search, or to "find more like these" to restart a paused search. It tells you what it will cost before it does it.

> [!NOTE]
>
> On new accounts, starting a BDR agent and sending outreach needs the Pro plan. Everything before that — searches, enrichment, building and previewing agents — works on pay as you go. See [Plans and pricing](https://docs.alvahq.com/billing/plans-and-pricing.md).

## What the demo costs

The demo is built with your account's credit, and what Alva spends building it is credited back to you, up to a cap, so your starter credit stays whole. Anything you ask Alva to do after the demo is ready is charged in the normal way. See [Understanding credits](https://docs.alvahq.com/billing/understanding-credits.md).

> [!TIP]
>
> Nothing is sent and nothing paid starts without your yes. The demo is there to show you real prospects and real draft emails so you can decide what to change before anything goes out.
