Practice mode lets you sharpen your calling against an AI prospect that picks up the phone and role-plays the conversation with you — out loud, in real time. It’s a real call: you dial, someone answers, and you talk. The difference is the person on the other end is an AI playing the gatekeeper or decision-maker, so you can rehearse your opener, handle objections, and refine your script without ever burning a real lead.
Why use it
- Warm up before a calling block so your first real call isn’t your practice run
- Test a new script or pitch and hear how it lands before you use it for real
- Train new reps in a safe environment where mistakes cost nothing
- Drill objection handling against a prospect that pushes back
Starting a practice session
Practice mode runs inside a calling session. On the New Session form, turn on the Practice mode toggle and choose a difficulty. Build your list as usual — the AI uses each company and contact as context, so the role-play feels specific rather than generic.
When you dial an entry, instead of calling a real number the call connects to the AI prospect, who answers and stays in character for the whole conversation. No real numbers are dialled.
Difficulty levels
Choose how hard you want the prospect to be:
Who answers
The AI plays the right kind of person for the number you’re calling:
- Calling a company main line connects you to a gatekeeper — a receptionist or switchboard — so you can practise getting past the front desk and reaching the right person.
- Calling a named contact connects you to that decision-maker, so you can practise the pitch itself.
Across the difficulty levels that gives you a range of characters to train against — from a helpful receptionist or an interested prospect, through to a firm gatekeeper or a sceptical executive who makes you earn every minute.
After the call
Practice calls are recorded and transcribed just like real calls, so you can play back exactly how you sounded and read the transcript to spot where the conversation turned. Practice calls are kept separate from your real activity — they won’t appear on a prospect’s timeline or in your live pipeline.
Start on Easy to get your script flowing, then step up to Hard. If you can book the meeting against the sceptical executive, the real calls feel easy.
