Email signatures are appended to every email Alva sends — whether from the chat panel, a BDR agent, or a manual compose. You can create multiple signatures and set a default.

Creating a signature

Go to Settings → Email Connections and scroll down to the Signatures section. Click New Signature. The signature editor supports:
  • Rich text formatting — bold, italic, links, images, and custom HTML
  • Visual editor — a WYSIWYG editor for designing your signature
  • HTML view — switch to raw HTML for precise control
  • Preview — see exactly how the signature will look

Merge fields

You can insert merge fields that are replaced automatically when the email is sent:
FieldWhat it inserts
{{sender.name}}The display name configured for the email connection
{{sender.email}}The email address of the connection
Click the merge field buttons below the editor to insert them at your cursor position.

Setting a default

Toggle the Default switch on any signature to make it the default. The default signature is used automatically when Alva sends emails. You can only have one default at a time.

Testing your signature

Click Send Test Email to send a test message to yourself with the signature attached. This lets you verify the formatting looks correct in your email client before using it in real outreach.

Multiple signatures

You can create multiple signatures for different purposes — for example, a formal signature for initial outreach and a shorter one for follow-ups. When creating BDR agents or drafting emails, the default signature is used unless you specify otherwise.
