Alva runs LinkedIn ad campaigns for you, so you never have to learn Campaign Manager. Tell Alva you want to advertise and it proposes a complete campaign: who to target, the offer, a daily budget, three ads with images and, if you like, a landing page. You say yes or change one thing. Alva then builds the drafts, sizes the audience, pushes everything to LinkedIn paused, and only switches it on when you give the word. Advertising is available on every Alva account.

What you need

Before Alva can run a campaign, check you have:
  • An admin on your Alva account to connect LinkedIn at Settings → Advertising.
  • A LinkedIn Company Page that the person connecting administers. Ads are shown under this Page’s name and logo.
  • A LinkedIn ad account with a payment method added in LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
  • A suitable role on that ad account, such as account manager, campaign manager, creative manager or billing admin.
  • A privacy policy page on your website, if you want to use a LinkedIn lead form. Alva reads it from your company profile.
LinkedIn bills your ad account directly. Alva never holds your media budget, and ad spend never comes out of your Alva credits. Alva can’t create the ad account or add the card for you; those steps happen in Campaign Manager.
See Connecting LinkedIn for the full set-up.

How a campaign comes together

1

Alva proposes a plan

Alva reads your company profile, products, ideal customer profiles, knowledge base, strategy and website, then proposes one direct-response campaign with everything filled in, including how many LinkedIn members the audience reaches.
2

You accept or change one thing

Nothing is built until you accept. A change (“drop the CFOs”, “lower budget”) gets you a revised plan to look at.
3

Alva builds the drafts

The campaign, the ad images and, for a website-visit campaign, the landing page are drafted in the same chat.
4

Preview on LinkedIn, paused

Alva pushes the campaign to your ad account in a paused state. Nothing is shown to anyone and nothing is spent.
5

Go live on your yes

Alva confirms the daily and monthly figures and switches the campaign on only after you say yes.

Two kinds of campaign

Both kinds are available on every account. Alva usually recommends the landing page because you control the page and the offer, and shows the lead form as the alternative. You choose.

What Alva handles, and what stays in LinkedIn

Alva does the drafting, audience sizing, previewing, going live, pausing, resuming, editing targeting, ads, form and budgets, and reporting. You only go to LinkedIn Campaign Manager to create the ad account, add a payment method, change roles, archive a campaign, or edit a campaign you imported.

Where to find it

Open Advertising in the sidebar:
  • Campaigns: campaigns Alva manages, plus the ones already in your ad account.
  • Images: your ad image library and your company images.
  • Landing pages: drafts and published pages.

Ask Alva

  • “I want to advertise on LinkedIn.”
  • “Propose a lead form campaign for facilities managers in the North West.”
  • “What campaigns are we running?”
  • “Is LinkedIn connected, and which ad account are we using?”
If you ask Alva to “get me more leads”, it asks whether you mean outbound email through a BDR agent or a LinkedIn campaign before starting either.
