The playbook
The playbook is the heart of a Personalised agent. It lives on the agent itself (not in your Templates screen) and is a hybrid of structured guidance and free-form notes, so you get the reliability of clear rules with the flexibility of writing in your own words.Multi-offer follow-ups
Unlike Template follow-ups, a Personalised agent can introduce new angles across the sequence. If the first email led with one offer and got no reply, a follow-up might try a different offer or proof point from your playbook rather than simply repeating the original ask. This keeps a sequence feeling fresh and human instead of nagging.Prospect intel refresh
Personalised agents can refresh what they know about a prospect before writing — pulling a fresh summary of the company’s website and public profile so the copy reflects the prospect as they are today, not stale CRM data.- This is on by default for Personalised agents. You can turn it off.
- On first outreach it gathers fresh context; later on it only tops up when the stored summary is thin or missing.
- It never blocks outreach — if a refresh can’t complete, the agent simply composes from whatever it already has.
- The small amount of processing involved is covered by the agent’s budget.
Template agents don’t use prospect intel refresh — they rely on your templates and merge fields.
Previewing before you launch
Before a Personalised agent sends anything, you can ask Alva to preview what it would write. Previews are samples only — nothing is ever sent to a prospect.- Alva composes sample emails for a few real companies from your profile (3 by default).
- You read the copy exactly as the prospect would receive it.
- Tell Alva what you liked, what you didn’t, and what to tweak — then preview again.
- Each round rotates through different companies so you’re not always seeing the same names.
Going live
A Personalised agent will only activate once it passes a hard checklist. This protects you from launching an agent that would send weak or broken outreach. To go live, the agent needs:1
A connected email account
Required to send for real. (Without one, the agent can still run in simulation mode.)
2
A linked profile with eligible companies
At least one enriched, eligible company to work on.
3
A complete playbook
At least one offer, plus a tone or free-form notes.
4
A successful preview
You’ve run at least one preview so you (and the agent) know the copy is right.
If anything’s missing, the agent card shows exactly what’s outstanding, and Alva will tell you what’s left before it lets the agent go live.
