Adding a product
Go to Context → Products and click Add Product. Each product has:- Name — the product or service name
- Description — what it does and what problem it solves
- Use cases — specific scenarios where this product is valuable
- Pricing model — how it’s priced (subscription, per-seat, usage-based, etc.)
- Typical deal size — the usual range for deals involving this product
How Alva uses products
- Deal tracking — you can link products to deals to track what you’re selling
- Outreach — BDR agents reference your products when personalising emails
- Email analysis — Alva recognises when prospects discuss your products and extracts relevant insights
- Conversations — Alva can answer questions about your products in chat
Managing products
From the Products page, you can edit or delete products at any time. Changes are reflected immediately in all AI features.Competitors
Adding a competitor
Go to Context → Competitors and click Add Competitor. Each competitor record includes:- Name — the competitor’s name
- Website — their URL
- Description — what they offer
- Strengths — what they do well (used for battle card data)
- Weaknesses — where they fall short
- Differentiation — how you position against them
How Alva uses competitors
- Deal tracking — link competitors to deals to track who you’re competing against
- Win/loss analysis — understand which competitors you win and lose against most
- Email analysis — Alva detects competitor mentions in email conversations
- Conversations — ask Alva “how do we compare to [competitor]?” and it uses your battle card data
- BDR outreach — agents can reference competitive positioning in outreach emails
Competitor discovery
If you create a Competitor Profile (CP) in Discovery, found companies are automatically added to your competitors list. This is a fast way to build out your competitive landscape.Linking products and competitors to deals
